FAQs

Q: Where do you source your ingredients?

A: Many of our botanicals are sourced from Canadian companies that specialize in organic ingredients. Some of these ingredients grow in Canada and others such as some superfoods and herbs that grow in hotter climates, are sourced abroad. Some ingredients are ethically wildcrafted and others organically homegrown by herbalist and founder, Jazmine Stinson.

Q: Are your ingredients Certified Organic?

A: Not everything is certified organic, although we ensure that the ingredients are of their true quality. Some of the local farmers we support grow using organic methods, but choose not to go through the process to obtain the "Certified Organic" certification. The majority of our herbs are organic and a small percentage are ethically wildcrafted. Feel free to send us a message or look at the label to see which ingredients are organic. If you have any other questions regarding the ingredients or practices of our suppliers, please reach out.

Q: Are you gluten free & vegan?

A: Our entire facility is gluten free and vegetarian friendly. All of our herbal oil infusions are vegan, as is our Beautiful Baby Creme. We do use unpasteurized Ontario honey in our syrups and Canadian organic beeswax in our salves, and therefore are not 100% vegan. Other than honey and beeswax, all of our other products are botanically derived ingredients.

Q: Are these wellness teas safe for anyone?

A: If you have any medical conditions, are pregnant or nursing, it is advisable that you consult with your healthcare practitioner prior to consumption. Although the herbs selected are chosen for their traditional use and record of historical safety, they are intended to promote general wellness, do not address specific health conditions nor substitute for individualized practitioner care.

Q: Are your products safe to take during pregnancy & breastfeeding?

A: If you are pregnant, nursing or have a medical condition, we always recommend consulting with your healthcare practitioner prior to consumption of herbal based products if you have any concerns. The pre and postnatal collection of teas are blended with organic botanicals that have a traditional history of safety and efficacy. Many of these herbs act as "nutritives", which promote overall strength and vitality-some of which can be considered more as food, i.e nettles and milky oat tops. If you have questions on specific products or herbs you are interested in please feel free to email us! Additionally, check out our sister business, Wild Hearts Botanicals www.wildheartsbotanicals.com which specializes in organic botanical wellness teas, tonics and syrups.

Q: Are these drinks kid safe?

A: Although at the moment we do not have any specific herbal teas for children, our collection is safe for children's consumption. Our Organic Elderberry Syrup is safe for children over 1 yr old. Please refer to label information on each tea. If there are any medical conditions or if children are on any medications, it is advisable to consult with health care provider prior to consumption. Generally, our products are safe if the recommended dosage on our labels is followed accordingly but feel free to reach out and ask us. Please check out our sister business Wild Hearts Botanicals, www.wildheartsbotanicals.com for more selection on herbal teas for kids.

Q: Who formulates the products?

A: Little Tree Wellness & Apothecary was created by Jazmine Stinson, CNP, RH., who is a Certified Nutritional Practitioner and Clinical Herbalist, trained in Ontario, Canada. She has over 12 years of studying and practicing holistic nutrition and herbal medicine. Jazmine is also a mama of 2 small children and was inspired to start her business from her journey through mamahood. Refer to our "About Us" page for more information.

Q: I'm currently taking medications-are your products safe for me to take?

A: If you are taking prescription medications for a serious condition, we always recommend consulting with your healthcare practitioner about the use of herbal medicine prior to consumption. While some herbal medicine is considered safe, some can cause contraindications as everybody is unique. Generally, our products are safe if the recommended dosage on our labels is followed accordingly. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
